In preparation for the 2012 election season EAC hosted a roundtable discussion on voting system preparation.

EAC hosted a webinar for election officials to discuss HAVA-related audit issues.

In preparation for the 2012 federal elections, the Commission hosted an August 11 round-table on ballot and polling place design. The goal of the discussion was to demonstrate the impact of design on voters; specifically, how implementing best practices in design can give voters confidence that that their votes were cast and counted.

EAC Standards Board held a virtual public forum from July 11 through July 22.

On June 17, 2011 the Commission hosted a round-table discussion focusing on the emerging role of social media in managing elections and communicating with voters.

EAC held a meeting with Election Officials, Voting System Vendors, Computer Experts, and Commercial Product manufacturers to discuss the impact of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products on voting systems.

EAC conducted a briefing for state election officials on February 10, 2011.

The IEEE Standards Working Group met at the EAC on February 8, 2011 to discuss voting systems electronic data interchange.

Reminder that the deadline to submit Testing and Certification Manual (v2) comments was Jan. 31, 2011.

On January 13, 2011 the Technical Guidelines Development Committee met at NIST in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

The EAC Board of Advisors reviewed and provided comment on five draft chapters of the Election Management Guidelines.

Commissioners held a closed session discussion regarding appointment of an EAC general counsel.

EAC conducted an August 18 public hearing in Orlando, Florida to receive testimony on proposed changes to NVRA regulations.

EAC, FVAP and NIST sponsored a workshop to explore the technical issues associated with remote electronic absentee voting systems for military and overseas voters.

The Commission hosted a round-table discussion regarding the various accessibility issues the EAC explored while revising the 2005 Voluntary Voting System Guidelines (VVSG).
