Topic: Promote Language Access for American Voters in 2016 Elections.

At this event Commissioners brought together state/local election officials and research experts to: (1) discuss ways to recruit and train election workers; and (2) discuss allocation of resources at the polls on Election Day. The 2016 Election Worker Guidebook was also released.

The EAC Board of Advisors met in Chicago, IL on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 and Thursday, May 5, 2016.

Topic: Testimony about accessible voting and the progress made since passage of the Help America Vote Act of 2002 (HAVA).

The EAC Standards Board met in Carlsbad, CA on Thursday, April 14 – Friday, April 15, 2016. This was a Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) meeting open to the public.

The Technical Guidelines Development Committee met at the U.S. Access Board in Washington, DC on February 8-9, 2016. The meeting was the next step in moving forward with the development of the next generation of voluntary voting system guidelines.

Topics: Recommendations on a transition date for VVSG 1.1 and a policy regarding employee participation with outside organizations.

On October 29, 2002, the Help America Vote Act was signed into law to make sweeping reforms to the nation's voting process and addresses improvements to voting systems and voter access that were identified following the 2000 election.

EAC used September 22, National Voter Registration Day, to remind voters of online voter registration options and feature EAC's map of state registration forms, Tips & FAQs for voters.

This two-day election data summit features a discussion on the role of "good" data in optimizing election procedures.

Commissioners met to discuss EAC's work on accessible voting and technology research, the results of the Election Administration and Voting Survey (EAVS), and the 25th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The Technical Guidelines Development Committee met at NIST in Gaithersburg, Maryland on July 20-21, 2015. The meeting was a first step in developing the next generation of voluntary voting system guidelines.

Topics: Reports from the advisory boards and a transition team, and to consider a draft Urban/Rural Study research report for approval.

This Public Meeting, originally intended for Wed, Feb 18 was rescheduled for Feb 24, 2015 due to an inclement weather forecast. The agenda items remained unchanged. Commissioners selected a chair and vice-chair and discussed several matters before the agency.

EAC and NIST hosted a symposium to discuss the future of voting systems.

EAC hosted a roundtable discussion to explore the EAC grants program's past successes and future direction. The event took place on Wednesday, Sept 3. It was webcast live and featured a Twitter fall.

On June 20, EAC/NIST sponsored the webinar, "Highlights of EAC Accessible Voting Research and the Impact on Elections."

EAC hosted a June 12 roundtable to discuss reforms to the testing and certification process designed to better meet the needs of state and local jurisdictions. The event took place on Thursday, June 12 and was webcast live.

On May 22, EAC/NIST sponsored the webinar "Accessibility & the PCEA report: Thoughts and Perspectives on AVTI Research."

On May 14, ITIF hosted a discussion and demonstration of accessible voting technologies developed through an ITIF initiative funded by EAC.
