EAC’s TGDC to Host Three Open Meetings on Voluntary Voting System Guidelines 2.0 Requirements

Over the coming weeks, the U.S. Election Assistance Commission’s (EAC) Technical Guidelines and Development Committee (TGDC) will hold a series of open meetings to discuss different aspects of the proposed Voluntary Voting System Guidelines (VVSG 2.0) Requirements. The three meetings will precede a scheduled September 19-20, 2019 in-person meeting of the TGDC.

Joint Statement on Senate Intelligence Committee’s First Report on Russian Interference in the 2016 Presidential Election

The 2018 midterm elections saw unprecedented levels of coordination between all levels of government and the private sector election companies, and the 2020 election will improve on that effort. Currently, all 50 states are members of the Election Infrastructure Information Sharing and Analysis Center (EI-ISAC), along with more than 1,800 local jurisdictions, and fourteen private sector companies making it the fastest growing ISAC in history.

EAC to Host 2019 Election Data Summit on Capitol Hill

The U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) will host the 2019 Election Data Summit on Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. ET in the Russell Senate Office Building, Room 301 (Senate Rules and Administration Committee Hearing Room). The event coincides with the release of the 2018 Election Administration and Voting Survey (EAVS) and will feature expert speakers examining how to use data to help America vote.

EAC to Hold VVSG 2.0 Public Hearing on April 10 in Memphis

The U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) will host a public hearing from 1 – 4 p.m. CDT (2 – 5 p.m. EDT) on April 10 in Memphis to receive testimony on the proposed Voluntary Voting System Guidelines (VVSG) 2.0 Principles and Guidelines. The hearing will feature testimony from EAC and NIST staff, as well leaders from the EAC’s Standards Board and Board of Advisors. It will also include a public comment period. The event is open to the public and will be livestreamed on the EAC’s website.

EAC Commissioners Unanimously Vote to Publish VVSG 2.0 Principles and Guidelines for Public Comment

The U.S. Election Assistance Commission’s (EAC) four sitting Commissioners unanimously voted to publish the proposed Voluntary Voting System Guidelines 2.0 (VVSG) Principles and Guidelines in the Federal Register for a 90 day public comment period, after which comments and feedback on the proposed document will be compiled and presented to the Commissioners for discussion and consideration.
