On June 17, 2011 the Commission hosted a round-table discussion focusing on the emerging role of social media in managing elections and communicating with voters.

EAC Standards Board held a virtual public forum from July 11 through July 22.

The Technical Guidelines Development Committee will meet at NIST in Gaithersburg, Maryland

In preparation for the 2012 federal elections, the Commission hosted an August 11 round-table on ballot and polling place design. The goal of the discussion was to demonstrate the impact of design on voters; specifically, how implementing best practices in design can give voters confidence that that their votes were cast and counted.

On September 20, 2011 in conjunction with National Preparedness Month, the Commission hosted a roundtable discussion focusing on contingency planning in elections.

In preparation for the 2012 election season EAC hosted a roundtable discussion on voting system preparation.

The Technical Guidelines Development Committee (TGDC) met in Gaithersburg, Maryland on December 15, 2011.

EAC held a meeting with Election Officials, Voting System Vendors, Computer Experts, and Commercial Product manufacturers to discuss the impact of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products on voting systems.
