The U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) Board of Advisors will hold their 2023 Annual Meeting.

The dates and times are April 25th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST and April 26th from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. EST.

This meeting is in-person and open to the public. If you are a member of the public and you are interested in attending, please register here. Space is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

During the annual meeting, board members will hold discussions on election audits, public records requests, threats to election officials, and working with local law enforcement and ongoing EAC programs. They will also discuss the Voluntary Voting System Guidelines (VVSG) 2.0, the EAC’s Voluntary Electronic Poll Book (EPB) pilot program, and the impacts of the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) and the Help America Vote Act (HAVA).

Background: On February 10, 2021, the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) announced the adoption of the Voluntary Voting System Guidelines (VVSG) 2.0, the fifth iteration of national-level voting system standards. The Federal Election Commission published the first two sets of federal standards in 1990 and 2002. The EAC then adopted Version 1.0 of the VVSG on December 13, 2005. In an effort to update and improve version 1.0 of the VVSG, on March 31, 2015, the EAC commissioners unanimously approved VVSG 1.1.
