Wait Time Enhancement for Vote Center Locator
In time for the 2020 Primary Election in March, Los Angeles County developed and implemented a Vote Center Locator app. The county updated the app prior to the general election to include information on wait times at any given Vote Center, enabling voters to choose the location most convenient to their needs. This very successful app contributed to wait times across all Vote Centers of less than 5 minutes throughout the 11-day voting period. In total, the application received more than 1.7 million views from voters throughout the County and served as the primary resource for voters to locate a nearby Vote Center.
The U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) annual Clearinghouse Awards, also known as the “Clearie” Awards, promote best practices in elections and celebrate the accomplishments of election officials across the United States.
