Silver Spring, Md. – U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) Chairman Thomas Hicks, Vice Chair Christy McCormick, and Commissioner Matthew Masterson today issued the following statement honoring the life and legacy of Wendy Noren, who served as Boone County Clerk for over three decades and as a member of the EAC’s Board of Advisors, and lost her long battle with cancer on Sunday:
“Wendy Noren was a remarkable election administrator and a true force for democracy in her community and our nation. Wendy will long be remembered as one of our nation’s most innovative, informed, and dedicated election officials. She was also the consummate example of preparedness, professionalism, and grit. It was a true honor to work with Wendy during her time on the EAC’s Board of Advisors and to have the opportunity to share her remarkable accomplishments and vast election experience with officials from across the country. While Wendy was a cherished colleague, she was also a beloved friend to us and countless others. We offer our most sincerely sympathy to Wendy’s family and to all who mourn her passing.”
