  March 21- EAC to Host Streaming Webinar about Voter List Maintenance   Silver Spring, Md. – As part of its month-long focus on voter list maintenance, the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) will host a streaming webinar titled "Spring Cleaning: Voter List Maintenance Best Practices, Tools and Success Stories" at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 21.The discussion, moderated by EAC Chairman Matthew V. Masterson, will feature the following speakers:  
  • The Honorable Mac Warner, Secretary of State, West Virginia
  • Jamie Shew, County Clerk, Douglas County, Kansas
  • Donald Palmer, Fellow, Bipartisan Policy Center’s Democracy Project
  • Tammy Patrick, Senior Advisor and Fellow, Bipartisan Policy Center’s Democracy Project
  During this streaming event, panelists will provide examples of successful state voter list maintenance approaches, offer best practices and examine tools available to help election officials improve the accuracy of voter registration rolls. They will also discuss how election officials can measure the success of their efforts. The panel comes as many election officials across the nation prepare to conduct list maintenance in preparation for the next election cycle.   The program is open to all viewers and will stream on www.eac.gov, as well as on the EAC’s Facebook page, @eacgov1. A recording of the discussion will be available shortly after the event takes place.   Earlier this month, the EAC issued a fact sheet highlighting how states conduct list maintenance, the importance of accurate voter registration lists, and the National Voter Registration Act’s provisions to ensure voter lists are maintained. It also gives guidance for voters wishing to proactively check the status of their own voter registration.   The commission is also hosting a series of blog posts from state officials who offer snapshots of how they conduct voter list maintenance, the importance of this effort and advice for others.
