Recruitment, Training and Retention of Poll Workers

The township designed a simplified and effective election worker training which provides each worker a custom, color coded and categorized manual that includes pictures and is written in plain language. Each section has a large font for ease of reading.

The township produced an entirely interactive hands-on training. Several stations are set up and at each station, groups of workers perform several listed challenges or answer several difficult questions about precinct operations or election laws.

On Election Day, workers are provided with several bins containing equipment and supplies. Each bin is color coded, and each item they possess is labeled and coded with the same color as the bin it belongs in, helping setup and tear down.

These training and operation processes have substantially increased accuracy and efficiency while producing no real costs.
