Pennsylvania - Delaware County Elections Department
Program Title
Memory Device Display Case
Program Summary
To increase transparency following its 2020 transition to a new balloting system, the Delaware County Elections Department addressed observer concerns regarding the chain of custody for election memory devices. While the upload process was already livestreamed, observers questioned the security of the devices as they moved to storage. In response, the countys IT liaison introduced the Memory Device Display Case, a secure, retail-style glass case with locking sliding doors. Purchased for just $1,475, the case allows the public and party observers to monitor the electronic storage devices 24/7 via livestream through the entire certification and recount process, providing ultimate transparency at a low cost.
