The EAC would like to thank all who entered the 2020 National Clearinghouse Awards competition, or Clearies, for best practices and innovations in election administration. The EAC Commissioners, judges, and staff were impressed with the ingenuity and resourcefulness of election officials from large to small jurisdictions who navigated record voter turnout in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) today announced that the Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) was the recipient of a 2018 “Clearie” Award for Outstanding Innovations in Elections. The WEC received the award for a cybersecurity training series intended to better secure the state-wide election database.

The EAC today released narratives and budgets for 48 of the 55 states and territories that have received a portion of new funds appropriated in March 2018. Seven remaining states have requested extensions and will be released at a later date.

On Tuesday, August 21, 2018, the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) will release program narratives and budgets from 48 of the 55 states and territories eligible to receive the newly appropriated Help America Vote Act (HAVA) funds contained in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2018. The narrative and budget release will precede EAC regional press calls to provide additional information about the grants and state-specific narratives.
