The EAC would like to thank all who entered the 2020 National Clearinghouse Awards competition, or Clearies, for best practices and innovations in election administration. The EAC Commissioners, judges, and staff were impressed with the ingenuity and resourcefulness of election officials from large to small jurisdictions who navigated record voter turnout in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) today released a Grant Expenditure Report for Fiscal Year 2018 detailing how states and territories have spent $3,628,946,231 in federal funds made available through the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) from the time the legislation was ratified on October 29, 2002 until September 30, 2018.

The EAC today released narratives and budgets for 48 of the 55 states and territories that have received a portion of new funds appropriated in March 2018. Seven remaining states have requested extensions and will be released at a later date.

On Tuesday, August 21, 2018, the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) will release program narratives and budgets from 48 of the 55 states and territories eligible to receive the newly appropriated Help America Vote Act (HAVA) funds contained in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2018. The narrative and budget release will precede EAC regional press calls to provide additional information about the grants and state-specific narratives.

The Colorado Secretary of State’s Office and Arapahoe County allowed a few dozen people from across the nation to assist with the first statewide risk-limiting audit (RLA) in Colorado. EAC staff and leadership, including Chairman Matthew Masterson, Commissioner Hicks, Jerome Lovato and Ryan Macias, were among this crowd.
