2008 ELECTION ADMINISTRATION & VOTING SURVEY

The EAC administers the biennial Election Administration and Voting Survey (EAVS) to collect state-by-state data on the administration of federal elections. The EAVS reports include data on the ability of civilian, military, and overseas citizens to successfully cast a ballot and contains the most comprehensive, nationwide data about election administration in the United States. It is a survey of all States, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Since 2014 this data has been combined into one report. Prior to 2014, the data were presented in three reports – the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) report, the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) report, and the Election Day Survey. In addition, in 2008 the EAC began administering the Statutory Overview, which asks states a series of open-ended questions about their election laws, definitions, and procedures. On this page you will find links to all 2008 EAVS, NVRA, UOCAVA, and Statutory Overview reports.
