Fraud Reporting

EAC OIG has authority to investigate fraud, waste, abuse, or mismanagement in EAC programs and operations and by grant recipients. However, there are many election-related concerns over which EAC OIG does not have authority. These include:

  • Allegations concerning irregularities in state and local elections, which should be reported to the state or local election official for the district where the election occurred. See EAC’s Contact Your State resource for more information.

  • Allegations concerning irregularities in federal elections, which should be reported to the state or local election official for the district where the election occurred or the U.S. Department of Justice, Voting Rights Division.

  • Allegations concerning voting fraud or other election-related crimes, which should be reported to the relevant local and state law enforcement agencies, the U.S. Attorney for the district where the election occurred, or the U.S. Department of Justice, Public Integrity Section.

  • Allegations involving campaign contributions, which should be reported to the Federal Election Commission.

  • Allegations concerning the political activities of federal employees, which should be reported to the Office of Special Counsel.

If you believe that you have information that reveals fraud, waste, abuse, or mismanagement in EAC programs and operations, or by recipients of federal funds distributed by EAC, you can file a report with EAC OIG.
