Paul Aumayr is a Senior Election Technology Specialist at the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC). He joined the Testing and Certification program of the EAC in May 2019. In this role he manages voting system testing and certification projects as well as assisting in the development of new Voluntary Voting System Guidelines.
Prior to working at the EAC, Paul spent 15 years at the Maryland State Board of Elections. Starting at a voting system specialist, he rose to become the Director of Voting Systems. In this position, he oversaw the State’s certification, operations and maintenance of its uniform voting system. Paul’s team also managed the electronic pollbook system for the State.
Paul received his B.Eng in Computer and Electronic Engineering from the University of Brighton in the UK. He also holds the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
