Note: If you wish to vote absentee and are a uniformed service member or family member or a citizen living outside the U.S., contact the Federal Voting Assistance Program to register to vote.

The Electoral College
The recent decennial census altered States’ weight in the Electoral College. Following each census, the United State Census Bureau conducts a process called reapportionment during which States are assigned a number of seats in the United States House of Representatives based on population. These changes to the way Americans select their president warrant an updated explanation of the system in time for the 2012 presidential election.
