We will post an Election update blog every Monday in an effort to summarize the elections and election deadlines each week until all primaries, special elections, and general elections scheduled for 2012 are finished. Elections this week:
March 6, 2012 (“Super Tuesday”):
- Primary, Ohio. Ohio’s Primary is open to all registered voters. Polls are open from 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM. More information on the Primary is available here or on Twitter @OhioSOSHusted.
- Presidential Preference Primary, Georgia. Georgia’s Presidential Preference Primary is open to all registered voters. Polls open from 7 AM to 7 PM. More information on the Primary is available here or on Twitter @GASOSKemp.
- Presidential Preference Primary, Massachusetts. Massachusetts’s Presidential Preference Primary is open all registered voters. Voters registered to a particular party may only vote their party’s ballot; voters not registered to a particular party may vote the ballot of their choice and are not required to register with a party. Polls are open from 7 AM to 8 PM. More information on the Primary is available here.
- Presidential Preference Primary, Oklahoma. Oklahoma’s Presidential Preference Primary is open to voters registered in the Democratic or Republican Party; Independent voters are not eligible to vote in the Republican or Democratic ballots. Early voting is available the Friday, Saturday and Monday prior to the election, please contact your County Election Board for more information. Polls are open from 7 AM to 7 PM. - Presidential Preference Primary, Tennessee. Tennessee’s Presidential Preference Primary is open to all registered voters. Polls are open from 7/8 AM to 8 PM. More information on the Primary is available here or on Twitter @SecTreHargett.
- Presidential Preference Primary, Vermont. Vermont’s Presidential Preference Primary is open to all registered voters. Polls are open from 6 AM to 10 PM, depending on your location. More information on the Primary is available here.
- Presidential Preference Primary, Virginia. Virginia’s Presidential Preference Primary is open to all registered voters. Polls are open from 6 AM to 7 PM. More information on the Primary is available here or on Twitter @VirgniaSBE.
Other Highlights:
State
- Illinois – Early voting begins on February 27, 2012 and closes March 15, 2012. Contact your local election office for voting locations and times.
- Louisiana – Early voting for the March 24, 2012 Presidential Preference Primary is available March 10-17, 2012 (except Sunday).
- Maryland – March 13, 2012 is the last day to register to vote for the April 3, 2012. Early voting begins March 24 and closes March 29.
- Missouri – March 7, 2012 is the last day to register to vote for the April 3, 2012 General Municipal Election.
- New York – March 30, 2012 is the last day to register to vote for the April 24, 2012 Presidential Primary Election.
- Pennsylvania – March 26, 2012 is the last day to register to vote for the April 24, 2012 Primary Election.
County
- Arlington County (Virginia) – Arlington County is holding a Special Election on March 27, 2012. If you have requested absentee ballots for the Primary (March 6, 2012) and Special Election (March 27, 2012) please make sure you mail each ballot back separately to make sure they are counted properly. Mail in absentee ballots for the March 27, 2012 Special Election are due back to the county by March 20, 2012 at 5 PM. More information is available here or on Twitter @ArlingtonVotes.
