With the recent opinion issued to the Standards Board and Board of Advisors regarding the legal restrictions in conducting official business without an EAC chairman appointed Designated Federal Official, we received a lot of questions about which activities we are still working on. EAC employees continue to work according to existing policies and procedures adopted by the Commission.
Our grants division continues to monitor and work with our 2010 project grantees (Pre-Election Logic and Accuracy Testing and Post-Election Audit Initiative; Military Heroes Initiative; and Accessible Voting Technology Initiative) and assist election officials with requests for requirements payments.
Research continues to release important election information, such as the Election Administration and Voting Survey.
Communications/Clearinghouse is blogging, tweeting (@EAC gov) and planning more roundtables for 2012.
Testing and Certification continues to work with voting system manufacturers and VSTLs to test and certify voting equipment. In fact, the EAC is looking for a Computer Engineer to assist with Testing and Certification efforts.
